The intraoral camera: for precise diagnoses

Dentists and all dental professionals at Dents Mon Quartier rely on the use of modern dental technologies to support them in their practice of dentistry. These technologies enable us to diagnose more accurately, while providing more effective care and promoting the comfort of our patients during our interventions.

In this article, we explain what there is to know about the intraoral camera, a technology that is very appreciated by our patients.

What is an intraoral camera?

The intraoral camera has become an almost essential tool for dental professionals who want to offer the best of dentistry to their patients. Indeed, this technology has truly revolutionized the way we make diagnostics!

Just a little bigger than a pen, the intraoral camera can easily be inserted into a patient's mouth. It provides real-time images of teeth, gums and different parts of the mouth. It also allows you to take photographs that can easily be stored in patient files.

The relevance of the intraoral camera to facilitate diagnosis

The intraoral camera allows you to zoom in on the parts you want to observe, and it allows to obtain images that are very clear and illuminated. It is therefore much easier to detect lesions or problems that may have gone unnoticed by visual examination or X-rays. It makes it possible to make a diagnosis as quickly as possible, then to direct the patient to appropriate care. In general, quickly detected pathologies are easier to treat.

The intraoral camera can detect many problems, including:

  • emerging dental caries;
  • broken fillings;
  • Dental cracks.

What are the benefits of intraoral camera?

The use of the intraoral camera has several advantages for our team, which can provide effective care as soon as a problem occurs. Of course, the patient also benefits from our use of this tool!

Easier to detect problems

Thanks to the high-resolution images taken by the intraoral camera, our dentists can detect emerging problems, which could have gone unnoticed otherwise.

Better communication with the patient

Thanks to the intraoral camera, the patient sees exactly what is happening in his mouth. We can therefore show him the abnormal signs we see and are better able to explain to him the relevance of performing a treatment.

Better communication with the patient

The intraoral camera can document the patient's oral condition and include pictures in his record. In this way, it is easier for our team to follow the evolution of a pathology and to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment. We can rely on visual elements, taken on a specific date and compiled into the patient's chart.

Each time you visit Dents Mon Quartier, you are sure to enjoy the benefits of using the latest dental technologies. This is part of our commitment of providing our patients with high quality care.
