CEREC technology

CEREC technology

CEREC technology not only allows the replacement of fillings or the placement of aesthetic veneers in one visit: it also enables your dentist to restore any decayed, weakened or broken tooth to solidify it.

Don’t wait for a new smile; make an appointment and restore your smile today!

CEREC and Dents Mon Quartier

At Dents Mon Quartier, we manufacture bridges and crowns that we can install the same day thanks to the CEREC technology, a method that has been used by thousands of dentists around the world for nearly 30 years.

The CEREC crown is manufactured directly in the dentist's office using a metal-free milling process, and the procedure is carried out in the chair: since the machine is in the room with you, it saves your dentist and you precious time by minimizing the number of appointments needed and trips to your dental office!Designed and manufactured with ceramic that matches the tooth color of the patient, each restoration is tailor-made.

The CEREC process

1. Examination and preparation.

Your dentist will first examine the tooth and determine the available treatment options. It could be a simple sealant or a full crown, depending on the amount of healthy tooth structure - and according to the clinical judgment of your dentist. If a restoration using the CEREC method is chosen by the patient, the dentist will then perform anesthesia and prepare your tooth for restoration by removing decayed or weakened tooth tissue. This preparation is common in many other restoration methods.

2. Taking the digital impression.

Your dentist will then take a digital impression of the prepared tooth. Then, a digital picture will be taken. The complete process of taking an optical impression takes between one to two minutes.

3. 3D restoration et preparation.

The CEREC machine will accompany the dentist in performing the restoration of your tooth. CEREC's 3D software will use the digital photograph of your optical impression to convert it into a three-dimensional virtual model on the computer screen. Your dentist will design the restoration of your tooth using this software: the design data of the restoration will be sent to the milling machine, in which a block of ceramic will be placed beforehand matching the color of your tooth.

4. Ajustment, polishing et placement.

About fifteen minutes later, your ceramic restoration will be ready to be placed! Your dentist will place the ceramic tooth in your mouth to make sure it fits properly and that you can bite properly. Finally, the ceramic tooth will be polished and glued to your natural tooth, which has been previously prepared. Your tooth is restored directly, in one visit!
