CEREC Technology : get a crown in one appointment!

In dentistry, the use of dental crowns remains widespread. It is used to restore damaged teeth to enable them to continue to perform their full functions. At Dents Mon Quartier, we are very proud to provide our patients with CEREC technology when their oral condition requires the design and placement of crowns and dental restorations.

You might be wondering how the CEREC Technology operates and the advantages such a technology can offer you and other patients. Keep reading to find out!

The CEREC technology

CEREC technology has been used in dentistry for about thirty years to design dental ceramic restorations: fillings, veneers and crowns. CEREC is an acronym for « Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics ».

CEREC uses of advanced technologies to design dental restorations that fit perfectly with the patient's natural teeth. This technology allows us to design and place restorations in one appointment, which is generally appreciated by our patients.

To achieve this, we first need to take digital impressions of the patient's teeth, which are transmitted to a computer program that creates a 3D model of the dental restoration that will be manufactured. This model is then sent to a robotic machining chamber, which mills the restoration from a ceramic block. This process is fully automated and takes place in just over an hour, under the constant supervision of the dentist.

In which situations is CEREC technology used?

At Dents Mon Quartier, we most often use CEREC technology to design dental crowns. The crowns are used to cover a tooth weakened or damaged by:

  • A fracture or a dental crack;
  • Deep decay;
  • A big filling;
  • A root canal.

Dental crowns can also be used for aesthetic purposes, for example in the case of stained, discolored or damaged teeth.Whatever the nature of your needs, if your condition requires a dental crown, choose Dents Mon Quartier in LaSalle to enjoy the benefits of CEREC technology!

CEREC: what are the benefits for our patients?

If we use the CEREC technology, it is because of the advantages that it presents when compared to the traditional method used to design crowns which required several visits to the clinic for the impression, the manufacture and placement of the restoration. In addition, the latter had to be manufactured in an external laboratory.

Thanks to CEREC, our patients now benefit from several advantages!

Stable and natural looking restorations: since CEREC is based on the use of a computer program that leaves no room for chance, the designed restorations fit perfectly in the patient’s mouth. They are therefore very stable when they are placed and integrate seamlessly with the natural dentition.

Solid restorations: with CEREC, we design high-strength ceramic dental restorations. Since the structure of this material is similar to that of natural teeth, dental restorations designed with CEREC are stronger.

More economical restorations: since they are designed, manufactured and put into place in a single appointment, CEREC restorations are economical, both financially and time-wise. In addition, since we no longer have to deal with an external laboratory, it is all the more economical for our patients, who get their restorations faster and at lower cost.

Would you like more information on CEREC technology? You need a dental crown and wonder how our team can help you? Make an appointment now with the professionals of Dents Mon Quartier in LaSalle! It is with pleasure that we will make you enjoy the benefits of CEREC technology.
